How Jesus Fed 5000 People with 5 Barley Loaves and 2 Fish The Secret meaning behind the story REVEAL

Was feeding people bread and fish the lesson?

The Feeding of Five Thousand

by: Losing Faith Finding God

The Biblical story of, The Feeding of the Five Thousand, is the only story found in all four Apostles books of the Bibles New Testament. Mathew Mark Luke and John all give a certain view of what happened that day. A different point of view can be very helpful when deciding what someone is saying. Memory and interpretation can change slightly. Ones demeanor and capabilities can change the perspective of a story. This is why we have several jurors in a trial as well. To ascertain what is said, to the best of our abilities, we use this method. Was Jesus, aware of this? Clearly this story could be regarded as an important key lesson in the Bible.

So did Jesus really feed 5000 people, as stated in the Bible? The answer is a definite yes. However, interpretation just like the different apostles and books of the Bible, are used to both capture the attention of the reader, while also revealing the moral of a story at the same time. Rather than argue who is correct in their interpretation. We are commanded to live in the spirit of the story. The stories are of ultimate Good using High moral standards (God) given to use by the creator, and the way to get there trough truth (Jesus).

While some people believe that Jesus actually took five loaves of bread and two fish, broke them into tiny piece, or magically made enough to have leftovers, some need a more literal interpretation. Thank God, Jesus was sent to relay this message to us. Jesus uses words, and chose people to tell us what he said. When they relay this, it speaks to the heart and minds of us all. Still, some are not ready to hear the word. This is why we must give our Testimony. Others may have struggled with the same issues. Losing Faith Finding God is here to guide those who do not relate with what others believe Jesus did. It is ok to have another view and our duty to share it. Once we do this, as the creation story teaches, and God tells us. We must bring these ideas forward to be challenged, weighed, and measured in order to grow. We come together in good Faith to talk about the Good news that is the Gospel.

The following is the text from Mathew, Mark, Luke and John with some words defined. After, there is a Revelation of interpretation that you can chew over and digest as the reader. Finally, our You-Tube Video will be available for the visual learner. God Bless, we will see you in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The Feeding of the Five Thousand

KJV of the four books

MARK 6:30-44 KJV

30 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus[JW1] , and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.

31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert [JW2] place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure [JW3] so much as to eat[JW4] .

32 And they departed into a desert place by ship [JW5] privately.

33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot [JW6] thither [JW7] out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.

34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much [JW8] people, and was moved with compassion [JW9] toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

35 And when the day was now far spent[JW10] , his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:

36 send them away, that they may go into the country [JW11] round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread[JW12] : for they have nothing to eat.

37 He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth [JW13] of bread, and give them to eat?

38 He saith unto them, How many loaves [JW14] have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

39 And he commanded them to make all sit [JW15] down by companies upon the green grass[JW16] .

40 And they sat down in ranks[JW17] , by hundreds, and by fifties.

41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes[JW18] , he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake [JW19] the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.

42 And they did all eat, and were filled.

43 And they took up twelve baskets [JW20] [JW21] full of the fragments[JW22] , and of the fishes.

44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.

The Feeding of the Five Thousand

JOHN 6.1-15 KJV

1 After these things Jesus went over the sea [JW23] of Galilee[JW24] , which is the sea of Tibe´ri-as. [JW25]

2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles [JW26] which he did on them that were diseased.

3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.

4 And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.

5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

7 Philip answered him, Two hundred [JW27] pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.

8 One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,

9 There is a lad [JW28] here, which hath five barley [JW29] loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments [JW30] that remain, that nothing be lost.

13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.

14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that Prophet that should come into the world.

15 When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

The Feeding of the Five Thousand

LUKE 9.10-17

10 And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsai´da. [JW31]

11 And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.

12 And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge[JW32] , and get victuals[JW33] : for we are here in a desert place.

13 But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy [JW34] meat [JW35] for all this people.

14 For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.

15 And they did so, and made them all sit down.

16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.

17 And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.

The Feeding of the Five Thousand

MATHEW 14.13-21

13 When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.

15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.

16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.

17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.

18 He said, Bring them hither to me.

19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

Revelation of Interpretation Losing Faith Finding God.

In the four books, throughout the story, Jesus is teaching the disciples how to minister to the masses of people. Along with giving testimony, the lesson teaches to never give up Faith. When we fist visit the stories, we first see the the deciples tell Jesus who understands how to get this job done. The few that do not, Jesus says to rest and talk among one another, because people were coming and time was short. The disciples see that there is a massive crowd, and do not believe they can give the knowledge to the people in such short time. They come to Jesus and say that they do not have enough people to minister to so many in such a short time. They then suggest that they send the people to the Pharisees to pay for the ministry that they had come in search of. Jesus says, you minister to them.

Now here is the shocker! In the book of John, we see that Philip was so discouraged he thought that Two Hundred people could not get the message through to these people, and that there was no way to get through to all of them. After hearing this, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, looks at Jesus with doubt, and says to Jesus, There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fish: but what are they among so many? Andrew was mocking Jesus and his efforts because he did not believe that they were up to the task. Only five of the disciples knew how to preach while they had only two fishers of men in the group. The other five wanted to send them away and or give up.

Jesus then taught (brake) the worried disciples, giving them the tools they needed to till the earth to plant seeds that would grow. After, settling the disciples that lacked faith, and teaching them the way. Jesus sends them out with the others to minister. When the day had past all 12 were involved in the ministry and had fragmented groups that they were teaching. Over all five thousand people got the message. They were all fed the meat that must be chewed and digested. The Barley plant has everything it need for one to survive. The Five Barley Loaves where the disciples ready to minister. They had two fishers of men. And Jesus taught the other Five disciples what they need to do after being so discouraged. They were all working together by the end of the day.

Jesus was showing them anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Have a look at the word key for the definitions to following along. If needed, here is a breakdown of the KJV of the four books, from Losing Faith Finding God. While some people believe, it was actual food Jesus created to feed the people. Jesus preached that a man is worth what he puts out. Would Jesus give food or knowledge? If you give some one a fish, you feed them for a day. Teach them to fish and they can eat for a lifetime. God is all powerful why would he feed the 5000 then and leave the rest of us to find our own food? Free will is what is taught. The ability to move mountains when one puts their mind to it. YOU must decide for yourself, what really happened.
