The Man with the Unclean Spirit
by:Losing Faith Finding God
The story of the man with the unclean spirit is the first miracle within the four Apostles books or the Bibles New Testament. The story is found in Mark and Luke. A different point of view can be very helpful when deciding what someone is saying. Memory and interpretation can change slightly. Ones demeanor and capabilities can change the perspective of a story. This is why we have several jurors in a trial as well. To ascertain what is said, to the best of our abilities, we use this method. Was Jesus, aware of this? Clearly.
So did Jesus draw out a demon, a spirit or a devil, as stated in the Bible? The answer is a definite yes. However, interpretation just like the different apostles and books of the Bible, are used to both capture the attention of the reader, while also revealing the moral of a story at the same time. Rather than argue who is correct in their interpretation. We are commanded to live in the spirit of the story. The stories are of ultimate Good using High moral standards (God) given to use by the creator, and the way to get there trough truth (Jesus).
While some people believe that Jesus took a ghost or Supernatural creature out of the man, some need a more literal interpretation. Thank God, Jesus was sent to relay this message to us. Jesus uses words, and chose people to tell us what he said. When they relay this, it speaks to the heart and minds of us all. Still, some are not ready to hear the word. This is why we must give our Testimony. Others may have struggled with the same issues. Losing Faith Finding God is here to guide those who do not relate with what others believe Jesus did. It is ok to believe in another view and our duty to share it. Once we do this, as the creation story teaches, and God tells us. We must bring these ideas forward to be challenged, weighed, and measured in order to grow. We come together in good Faith to talk about the Good news that is the Gospel.
The following is the text from Mark and Luke with some words defined. After, there is a Revelation of interpretation that you can chew over and digest as the reader. Finally, our You-Video is available for the visual learner. God Bless, we will see you in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Mark 1:23-26
23And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit[JW1] ; and he cried out,
24saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. [JW2]
25And Jesus rebuked [JW3] him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
26And when the unclean spirit had torn [JW4] him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
27And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? [JW5] for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
28And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

Revelation- Interpretation
In our story; the man with the unclean spirit. Jesus walks into the place of gathering known as a synagogue. This place has certain rules and taxes given to the people lead by the Pharisees.
We discover a man who was truly mean spirited. People can hide behind falsehood to make their appearance better than what it really is. Jesus is the master of pointing out the truth by saying only what is needed so that all others can see the truth. This is a hard practice. We all can be hypocritical. Jesus brings out the truth of what is really happening here by using the man’s emotions against him so he would reveal his true self to everyone.
When Jesus, expresses sharp disapproval or criticism of (someone) because of his behavior or actions. Jesus is saying, - save your non-sense for someone else, speak your mind.
The man gives his true intentions forthright. In doing so reveals his true nature to all in attendance. This revelation, shows who the righteous man really was.
The Pharisees were amazed that Jesus could do this and did not understand how. They did not like the evil that came out of the man. To try to turn the tables by saying Jesus brought out the evil in the man but people knew better.
Let all with eyes see and let all with ears hear.
