PAYING THE TEMPLE TAX

Mathew 17:24-27
24-And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
25-He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
26-Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.
27 -Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
APPLICATION
Jesus is teaching everyone here in the Scripture story/lesson. Who is everyone?
1. Peter
2. The Pharisees (asking for tribute money)
3. The Fish that will be caught (a man)
4. Finally the reader/us-both you and I
What is the lesson?
You will receive exactly what you put into anything you partake in life!
ONLY through TRUTH will you find what you are looking for!
Answer the Miracle for the Questioning Soul...
Mathew 17:24-27
24-At Capernaum they are approached about the temple tax. The "Temple" is within us. It is our Body. It is not made of houses of stones.
25- The question Jesus asks goes to the matter of the temples tax righteousness. Who would the Pharisees (earthly Kings) charge for this (spiritual truth) they were about to sell. The Sons(people whom are close and or related to) or strangers? What is the actual motive behind the tax?
26- The answer, Strangers, shows the Pharisees to be hypocrites. You cannot be told what to do/give with a tax. The act must be righteous in every aspect.
27- Jesus teaches EVERYONE ( all 4.) this lesson here. Rather than be a hypocrite and point out what they are doing wrong. Lets show them how easy the truth is to obtain. Jesus instruct Simon to go to the sea(a mass of people) cast out a hook (preach about spiritual truth) the first fish (person that listens)caught you will find a coin(representing what has been taught and or learned). Take the coin from the fishes mouth and give it to the Pharisees. By doing it this way the Pharisees is getting exactly what he has really given to the people within the town!
Jesus is the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE no one comes to the father except through him... Think on it!
All the Answers are in the Bible, look for the meanings of the WORD. There is a moral answer for us all. Do not get caught up in Earthly History!
